Website Terms of Use

Effective date: 2 June 2026

These terms govern your use of classicdesktop.com and its associated product pages (the "Site"), operated by Christopher Fitzsimons, trading as Classic Desktop ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these terms.

1. About the Site

The Site is informational and marketing only. It describes our Windows desktop applications and links to their listings on the Microsoft Store. The Site does not host or distribute application installers; all downloads, purchases, trials, and updates happen through the Microsoft Store.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to misuse it — for example, by attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, or scraping or copying its content beyond normal personal use.

3. Intellectual property

The content of the Site (text, images, logos, and the Classic Desktop name and branding) is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reuse it without our permission, except for normal personal, non-commercial viewing.

4. Purchases, trials, refunds, and cancellation

Our applications are sold through the Microsoft Store, not through the Site. The contract of sale is concluded through the Microsoft Store, and the Microsoft Store Terms of Sale apply; in most markets Microsoft processes payment and handles any applicable consumer tax such as VAT. Refunds are administered by Microsoft under its Store policies; please direct refund requests to Microsoft. Each application offers a free trial through the Store so you can evaluate it before you buy. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected. Under the UK's distance-selling rules (the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) consumers generally have a 14-day right to cancel distance purchases; however, for digital content supplied immediately, that right can end once supply begins with your express consent and acknowledgement that you lose it. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

5. Links

The Site links to third-party sites, principally the Microsoft Store. We are not responsible for the content or policies of third-party sites; their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

6. No warranty for the Site

The Site is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. This does not affect your statutory rights, and does not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Privacy

The Site itself does not require an account. Personal information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy (https://classicdesktop.com/app-privacy-policy) and the website privacy policy.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your home nation within the UK.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always the one published on the Site. Christopher Fitzsimons, trading as Classic Desktop. 55 Common Lane, Benfleet, England, SS7 3TB, United Kingdom. Email: support@classicdesktop.com
