PDF compression
CompPDF
Batch-compress PDFs on Windows. Pick a quality target, point at a folder, walk away. No upload, no monthly limit, no cap on file size.

Why CompPDF
A desktop tool for the people who have hundreds of PDFs to shrink and would rather not feed them to a web app one at a time.
Real batch processing
Drop in a folder, the queue takes the lot. Hundreds of PDFs in one job, no per-file size cap, no per-batch limit, no remote server queue.
Fine-grained quality control
A single quality slider from 1 (smallest file) to 100 (least quality loss), plus separate toggles for images, fonts, page content and metadata. Up to 90% reduction on image-heavy files.
Local-first
PDFs never leave your machine. Password-protected files prompt you at runtime and skip cleanly if you cancel. Originals are never overwritten.

What each option does
Compress Images. Reduce embedded image quality while keeping the images in place. The single biggest source of savings on scan-heavy and photo-heavy documents.
Optimize Pages. Strip redundant comments, whitespace, end-of-line characters and uncompressed content streams from page bodies.
Optimize Fonts. Drop unused glyphs and redundant font tables from embedded fonts.
Remove Metadata. Strip non-essential document properties and hidden file metadata.
Remove Completed. Clear processed entries from the queue once a job finishes, so the next batch starts clean.
System requirements
- Operating system: Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11
- Disk space: Approximately 80 MB for the application, plus working space for compressed output
- Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB recommended for large batch jobs
- Display: Extended ribbon layout benefits from a wide-screen display (1600×900 or wider)
- Distribution: Microsoft Store
Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my PDFs get?
Up to around 90% on image-heavy documents at lower quality settings. Text-only PDFs see more modest savings because there is less to squeeze. The quality slider lets you pick the trade-off per job.
Does it overwrite my originals?
No. Source files are read-only. Compressed output is written to a separate folder of your choosing.
What happens with password-protected PDFs?
CompPDF prompts you for the password when it hits a protected file. Cancel the prompt and that file is skipped — the rest of the batch continues.
When will it be available?
CompPDF is in pre-alpha. Get on the notify list and we will email you when the first Microsoft Store build is published.
